South Wales

The Bridge Inn, Pontfaen (Pembrokeshire).

North Wales

The White Lion, Llanelian. Old-time, bluegrass, and blues from 8 pm. Free. Hosted by John Les and Gill Williams of Highly Strung, the evening is run more like a sing around than the usual jam session. It's a friendly, relaxed evening where people can join in or just listen. The White Lion is a mile and a half off the Main A55.You take Old Colwyn exit off the motorway and

Marine Hotel, Old Colwyn. First Tuesday of the month. 8 p.m. Small fee. Led by Stuart Williams (of Baker Fabulous Boys) Workshop for beginners to experienced. All pickers welcome. Near the Borders

The Hollybush. Between Hay-on-Wye and Glasbury. This bluegrass pick meets the third Tuesday of every month, starting about 8 p.m. The pub has a 24 hour license and an all amenities campsite for those wanting to come from further afield and stay over.
